Hey There, Sedona

The red sandstone it fell
Right smack on top of Sedona Arabella
The Jon boats said won't you hop on in
And the stagecoach baby gonna take you for a spin, oh oh, oh oh

‘Sedona’, Houndmouth.

Back in November of 2021, My friend Kayla and I ventured out to the desert post-quarantine to visit our other two friends, Katie and Khalil in Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Sedona. I’m typically a winter-weather-lover - but an escape to the heat every once in awhile never hurts. My camera went everywhere with me, as we saw more cacti than you could imagine and drank more margaritas and espresso martinis than you could count.

After landing and grabbing tacos in downtown Scottsdale, we ventured to the Phoenix Botanical Gardens. It’s incredibly easy to walk in, and walk out, whenever you want - and they have the cutest little souvenir shop that doubles as a green nursery. I definitely recommend going with a camera, a hat, and a full wallet!

The next part of the trip included a trek out to gorgeous Sedona // and oh what a dream it was.

The mountain-obsessed part of me couldn’t take enough pictures. How many did I actually take vs. the amount that you’re now seeing? In a tribute to my favorite high school dramedy, the limit does not exist.

We got to the trail in about 20 minutes, and began the upward trek. Even though the portion of the hike we did was less than 2 miles, it involved a lot of rock scrambling and red dust on my LLBeans. Layers came off as we followed the rock piles to the top. Sweat dripped and we all finished our multiple bottles of water — but holy sweet desert was the view

W O R T H I T ! !

I love admiring God’s work.

It’s such a privilege to be able to have my healthy mind, body, and crew to have these experiences with, and I wouldn’t trade this beautiful life for the world.

I plan to go back to Arizona next year - and hopefully Havusu Falls. Drop your tips & tricks for me - and let’s meet up for a shoot!

Cheers!
